:

Worship at 10. We will honor first responders. Invite some! Then Brunch at 11:30. Bring a friend!

Note: This may be my last blog for a few days as I am scheduled for my heart ablation at 6am . I'll be back soon enough, Lord willing! I do appreciate and feel your prayers! Thanks!

Good Morning Longing Pray-ers! Amen! May we continue to long in prayer for the things that God desires and help to over come the things that break His heart by doing what we are created and gathered to do for such a time as this and for His glory. Amen!

Are you content with the way things are in your life, household, church, nation? We can choose be content with God and still be discontent for the things that break His heart and pray and act for them to be resolved. What's your part? Crying out in tears. Reaching out to change? Both? God provides all we need. PTL! (not all we want). God answers our prayers according to His will and timing. God brings joy and satisfaction as we trust and obey and choose Him and His ways. Amen! Sometimes we need t be content with being discontent. It's a Holy Spirit thing that moves us to action. And sometimes we just need to choose to be content with the way things are some we can know peace as we choose joy that flows from knowing God is with us and has a plan. So  seek God and His righteousness and kingdom above all else. Spend time abiding in His loving presence. Then pray informed and step into this day ready to do what you can with what you've been given for His glory. Are you content for the things of God? Probably not. So, what will you do about it? Are you content with what you've been given? You can be and can work at being the best steward of all he has given. pray for that and choose joy and trust as you follow Him! Amen! I'm praying for you! Shalom shalom--perfect peace to you and to follow peace and be content. And for when to know to be discontent and act. Shalom shalom is available. Choose it as you trust and obey . Amen

Connection:

 - His Mission…Our Prayer

Pray for God’s kingdom to come! The disciples must have asked Jesus how to pray. After coaching them on their motives for prayer, Jesus told them to pray like this: “Father, Your name be praised and honored. Your kingdom come and Your will [Your mission] be done” (Mt. 6:9-10, italics and paraphrase mine).

Jesus, the son of God, tells us to pray for God! For His glory, His name, His fame, His kingdom, and His mission. God desires our praise. He wants us to participate in His mission of a blessing for all peoples (Gen. 12:3-4) as He establishes His kingdom  on earth and forever in heaven.

So, pray for God to call out His laborers into His harvest fields more than ours. Pray for the establishment of His Church, more than our mission organization or denomination. Pray for the reputation of His name, more than our recognition. It is no accident that the most effective missionaries are often standing in the background, not upfront in the spotlight. Pray for the Holy Spirit to convince unbelievers through His teachings more than our clever arguments. Pray for new believers to obey His commandments more than our traditions. Pray for the new church to find answers from His Word, more than our words. When we pray like this, He inevitably will surprise us. After all, it is His mission. And He will accomplish it.

Son of God, teach me to pray as You did with Your first disciples! Draw me into Your school of prayer for the sake of God’s mission! Posture my heart in an attitude of complete humility and dependence and train me to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness before my own! May Your thoughts, words and actions take the place of my pride-filled ideas, plans, and speeches. Forgive me, Lord, for my arrogance and engage me wholeheartedly in representing Your name with integrity. The mission is Yours alone…my only job is to faithfully pray and obey!

Prayer Points

  • Praise God, the source of knowledge (Prov. 1:7).
  • Thank God for the wisdom to apply that knowledge in everyday situations.
  • Confess times of leaning “on your own understanding,” not acknowledging him (Prov. 3:5-6).
  • Commit to acknowledging God in all your ways.
  • Ask him to help you trust in him with all your heart.
  • Pray for neighbors who do not yet “fear the Lord.” Ask God to open the eyes of their understanding to know him.
