Merry Eve! Are you ready for the Kingdom to come...and for His will to be done in, through and around you? Prepare and offer yourself as an act of worship that pleases our King of kings and Lord of lords! He's here in us--Emmanuel and He longs to love through us! Amen! COME!
Good Afternoon...well almost! I slept in for a change . Feels like I wasted half the day but in reality I am honoring God and following His healthy rhythms of resting in Him, stewarding my health and then working from rest--informed rest as I abided and now am prepared for the day ahead!! Have you done that ? In this busy season, rest and resting in Christ are critical! What are His plans for you ? Have you asked? Have you stilled yourself in His loving presence before stepping out in faith into this day? Be still and know, abide then go! Good fruit awaits as we walk with Him and incarnate His love and wisdom and ways. Amen!
Check out the Upper Room and Sarah Young's Jesus Calling devotionals for , turn on some music, abide and enjoy this white Eve! (Too bad it won't last until , but what joy we find in the artistry of God!) Tell Him about what brings you joy in Christ and what fuels your hope, trust and faith. Praise Him for His ever-present love and help. Then go refreshed and ready to be Jesus--to incarnate Him and His good ways and bring good fruit alive. Amen! I'm praying for you and for the days ahead to remember the reason for the season and to allow Him control of you, circumstances and to bring His joy and shalom alive. Amen! Start with worship now! Then go love well! Amen! Light up the darkness with His love flowing from you like streams of living water! Let Him light up the darkness through you as he refreshes you and prepares you for life!
UR: Promise of Light
Jesus said, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” - John 8:12 (KJV)
After nearly 100 years, the beautiful stained-glass windows in our church needed repair. Plywood panels temporarily fill the empty spaces, and our sanctuary is much dimmer now. We’re not sure how long the repairs will take, but we look forward to once again seeing the glorious hues of the windows in our sanctuary.
Sometimes I allow my own outlook to become dimmed by the condition of the world. It’s disturbing and almost overwhelming — the wars, injustice, poverty, crime, prejudice, and religious and political strife. So many problems seem to darken the world; many seem to have no solutions.
However, just as I know the will once again shine brilliantly through our stained-glass windows, scripture assures me of the promise that one day all will be revealed. The apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 13:12 that we are seeing things “through a glass, darkly” but that one day all truth will become clear. T
hrough faith and hope we anxiously anticipate the fulfillment of God’s promise that one day we will understand and live in God’s Holy Light.
