Good Morning Spirit-Filled Perevering Followers of Jesus! Amen! That is how we roll! Filled-with and led by the Spirit with stick-to-it-tiveness! We thrive in Christ when the hard times come with the help of the Spirit and we stand firm on our Rock. Jesus is our strong tower! PTL! Sometimes we may wonder if God is really leading us or allowing some hard faith testing and stretching thing. But the Spirit affirms God is with us and will help us through and grow us in the process. PTL! And don't forget that Liar who whispers in your ear, "Did God really sssay?" Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Don't lean on your own understanding. (or listen to the Devil) Acknowledge God in all your ways and He will provide and guide even as He refines. Don't give up! God is with you and for you and He has a perfect plan for you to discover no matter what you are enduring. And the Spirit is with you, has gifted you and will help you to not only persevere, but to thrive. Count on it! Don't forget that God redeems and never wastes what we go through to uses it through us to be a blessing to others and to grow His Kingdom. That's how we can rejoice in our suffering for we are most like Jesus as we move through it. Yes PTL and know His shalom and choose joy in the Lord always! Amen!
Check out the Upper Room and The Word for You devotionals (below). God's Spirit led me to this blog through them. (I love that He does that often and threads my quiet time together!) He is threading your life and our lives together as He creates His masterpiece. Always remember that He is working all things together for the good of those who believe (you/us) and He is carrying out His perfect plan that includes you and your purposes. He may even be leading you to something to work on this year. I've heard, "take every thought captive before the Lord more often", "Listen better before speaking and acting" and "Be more Christlike". Maybe all three thread together for me to work on in '26? What's He whispering to you as you seek Him earnestly? Share it so we can pray and process together and grow in Christ this year! May you know His many blessings and step into His shalom as you follow Jesus and trust in the Lord always! Amen
UR: Where God Leads
Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. - Psalm 25:4 (NRSVUE)
One winter morning as I was walking to the church where I am the pastor, I thought of an older couple that lived down the street and wondered if they would like to attend some upcoming church activities. At the end of their slippery driveway was a newspaper, which I picked up and brought to their front door.
My neighbor was pleasantly surprised to see me, and she invited me inside for some tea. I was able to sit with her and her husband for a while. As we drank tea and chatted, she said, “God is good,” explaining that she had been wondering how she would get the newspaper. She went on to describe her feelings of loneliness and told me that she believed God had sent me to cheer her up.
What I did wasn’t much. I just stopped by a neighbor’s house, gave them their newspaper, delivered a church newsletter, and stayed to chat. However, we both believed that God’s hand was at work. I was grateful to know my neighbors better and especially to feel that God had used me as an instrument of God’s love.
We never know how and when God might use us, so let us always be open to the movement of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
