Thank God I'm Forgiven! PTL and Amen! Thank God that forgiveness is on-going and always available to those whose hearts want to be forgiven and helped to repent. Help me/us Lord to seek after You and to walk as forgiven and redeemed servants. Cleanse us. Mold us. And use us to be Your Living Water to those thrsting after You! Amen! Tell God what you are thankful about  and ask Him to transform and prepare you to go live and love more like Jesus, just as you are. Then ask Him to cleanse and purify you to repent and grow more like Christ and be ready to do the things He created you to do for such a time as this. Ask Him to revive you, us, and His Church and to bring salvation to this nation! Amen! Thank God that you are washed white as snow!

 - Thirsty for Personal Revival

This is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites to him from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?” And he confessed and did not deny; and this is what he confessed: “I am not the Christ.” And so they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” And he *said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.” Then they said to him, “Who are you? Tell us, so that we may give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?” He said, “I am the voice of one calling out in the wilderness, ‘Make the way of the Lord straight,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.” (John 1:19-23)

You’re thirsty for personal revival. You want true biblical Christianity. The kind you read about in the New Testament. Lukewarm, cultural, go-with-the-flow, worldly Christianity will never do.

You want to radically burn and shine like John the Baptist (minus the locusts and camel hair). Jesus described John the Baptist as the greatest man who had ever lived. He lived…and died…to point the way to Jesus. I want to burn and shine for Jesus like that.

I want to prepare the way for the second coming of the Lord. I know you do as well.

John the Baptist’s ministry was forged in the desert. Howling winds, endless ribbons of sand, and no relief. The desert produces thirst. Thirst leads to seeking water. Seeking water brings about finding water. Finding water leads to drinking to your fill. Drinking to your fill imparts abundant life. You don’t have to wait for the apathetic, lukewarm Church to get revived in order to experience personal revival. You can get on fire for God now. You can be a living, breathing, walking revival—setting everything you touch ablaze for God!

But personal revival starts with thirst. God uses the desert to create an unquenchable thirst for Jesus. Nothing this world offers will satisfy. Nothing. Only Jesus.

It’s in the crucible of the desert that God brings you to a point of insatiable thirst and holy desperation for Him. It’s here He shows you there is more—much, much more—than what you’re living.

Many view the believers’ faith in the four Gospels and Book of Acts as living, impossible-to-attain, super-saint Christianity. But for thirsty Christians, this radical level of faith is both achievable by the grace of God—and the goal. Thirsty Christians don’t measure their walks with God by the Christians around them, or even by someone who’s done great exploits for God. Jesus is now the standard.

A Christian who has been personally revived lives true biblical Christianity. Not perfect Christianity. If that were the case, none of us could experience personal revival. I certainly couldn’t. I need God’s mercy almost daily. I know I’m not alone.

Father, I am so thirsty for all You have for my life! Help me to lean into Your heart as I seek more and more life in Christ Jesus. Forgive me for not chasing after You with everything in me! Grow my desire to experience personal revival through Your power and Your grace! Show me how to live in such a way that others want more of Your life-giving presence too!

Survivors by God’s Mercy

Unless the Lord Almighty had left us some survivors, we would have become like Sodom. Isaiah 1:9

READ Romans 9:22-29

audio playLISTEN ONLINE

Charles Joughin was a sailor from the young age of eleven. He served as a baker on a number of ships and, in 1912, got hired on to a cruise ship sailing out of Southampton, England. That ship, the Titanic, hit an iceberg in the Northern Atlantic. As the ship went down, Joughin helped people into lifeboats. He himself stood atop the end of the Titanic as it sunk vertically into the water. Miraculously, he survived.

Thirty years later, during World War II, Charles was on another ship, the RMS Oregon. It was rammed by another vessel, and it also sank. Remarkably, Joughin survived again.

Scriptures tell us we’re all on a sinking ship. Paul writes, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). He refers to the rebellious nation of Israel, quoting Isaiah: “Unless the Lord Almighty had left us some survivors, we would have become like Sodom” (Isaiah 1:9). Paul speaks of a “remnant” of Israel, a shipload of survivors: “only the remnant will be saved” (Romans 9:27). How are they saved? By receiving the good news (10:16). You see, we’re all like Israel, drowning in our sin. None of us can be rescued unless we receive the good news. The lifeboat that God throws out to us all is Jesus.

We who believe in Jesus might need to be reminded of the remarkable truth that we are, by God’s mercy, survivors. Those who haven’t yet found Jesus in the troubled waters of life might do well to climb in the lifeboat.

REFLECT & PRAY

When have you felt like you’re drowning in life? How do you understand God’s offer of a lifeboat?

Dear God, thank You for Your mercy and rescue.

SCRIPTURE INSIGHT

In Romans 9:22-29, Paul reveals the depth of God’s mercy against the backdrop of divine sovereignty. Though God has every right to display His wrath and power, He instead chooses to show immense patience, even toward those who oppose Him. This patience paves the way for mercy, as God calls not only the Jews but also the gentiles, creating a new people belonging to Him. The apostle draws from Hosea to emphasize that God’s saving grace reaches beyond human expectation: Those once considered “not my people” are now beloved children of God (Romans 9:25; Hosea 2:23). Salvation isn’t earned but freely offered, and God’s mercy isn’t limited by ancestry or status. We’re all drowning in sin, but God offers salvation through Jesus to all who believe (Romans 10:13).
