Good Morning Listening, Abiding, Thankful, Faithful Pray-ers and Servants of the Lord! Amen! was a sleepless night again for me, BUT GOD! There was a reason. He wanted to talk. Thanks Lord! I spent some time reading a chapter from a book on delighting in God about being still before the Lord, listening and receiving. He is always speaking love over us and wanting to whisper in love to our hearts His thoughts and plans. Be still and know that I am God is not a suggestion, yet many often find stillness and listening for God's still small voice a very hard command to keep. I know because doers and reactionaries like me gotta get to it to do things for God. "Let's roll baby. No time to dilly dally. Daylights burning!" But God say to be still and then we will know He is God, He is speaking, He is wanting to hang out with you. So I'm working on that practice of stillness as I abide in Christ and rest in the Lord. What refreshing and renewal of thinking this brings. Try it! What's God saying to you . Can you turn off the noise for a time and listen? The Upper Room speaks into this as well. God is speaking to me . How about you? What are you hearing? What does He want you to do or stop doing? Be still and know! Ask for help to turn off all the noise, to still your soul and to abide with an open mind and heart and listening spirit. Then ask for help to do what He reveals. Take some time during this hot week to chill, abide and listen with fresh hearts and then seek Him for your next steps. Maybe process what you are hearing with your teammates. We used to talk about kairos moments. Moments when God breaks through time and reveals Himself and His plans to transform you or some situation. The process of processing what God is revealing during these kairos moments goes like this: Listen, process if God is really speaking, process with some friends, release your will to God and make plans to do what He's asking, find accountability to do it, do it. be transformed or part of some transformation as God leads us forward with Him in our journey. And don't forget to thank God for who He is and all he is doing! He is awesome and he has great plans for you! Check out Our Daily bread about this. Open your Bible and read the associated Scripture meditatively and prayerfully. God does speak and inform our prayers as we abide in his Living Word! Thanks Lord! Let's start with that passage and then be still, abide and then meditate on the links asking God to speak and lead you . I have prayed that already for you and me and us. Amen! Come Lord. Speak and lead and move us to be still and then go. Thanks! Amen!
Don't be foolish. Abide and thrive in Christ. Ask the Holy Spirit to speak, fill and lead you . And sing God's praises as you build those gratitude list with what he is doing in, through and around you . be still and know, process and go. Whistle while you work ! Amen! Shalom shalom!
Eph 5:15-20, Living by the Spirit’s Power
15So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. 18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. 20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
