Good afternoon friends! Well God heard prayers and I slept in . PTL and thanks for praying for me! we had a great bread ministry and night dinner huddle. Great fellowship and ministry took place. Many of our spiritual gifts were exercised and God used us and answered our prayers. PTL! I also wrapped up homebound communion visits. Man are our people lonely and in some cases depressed. Maybe your giftedness is encouragement? Maybe some of you are called to call, visit and/or send cards. I know they are very appreciated. I can't imagine being stuck at home or in a facility for extended time like these are. Ask God if He wants you to minister to one or more of these and do it. Maybe team up and go love on them for an hour or two. Maybe call and pray with them. Maybe make some cards and send them. God will use your offering of your gifts, talents and time.
Speaking of spiritual gifts, talents, abilities and God using us, OUTR Daily Bread devotional speaks into this coming together and using our gifts to serve and to grow His Church. We are reminded through the 1 Corinthians 12 passages that God has placed and gathered us to go be His Good News Delivery Company and that we all have a vital, needed part in that. What's your part? Who are your teammates, who needs you. (click the ODB link below and meditate on this as you stay inside safe from smoke and heat). When I did the spiritual gifts training and classes we are reminded that we are usually deficient in some gifts and need others to be like a well oiled machine. What gifts might you need to help you with the plans God has for you? Invite some to join you and work together. We see this played out at bread ministry weekly, we all have servant hearts but different gifts and abilities that God unites as we serve and love and ministry together. The Word for You which has no links, reminds us that we measure our success and the faith of others by our fruit or theirs. Are you, are we as a Body, experiencing good and lasting fruit? We can as we abide, receive and pursue God's plans for us and go live and love like Jesus. Be still, know, prepare, pray and go produce some fruit this week. And team up to be more productive. Amen
The smoke wafting around us reminds me of how our prayers go before the Father like incense. It also remind me how Satan prowls about seeking those to destroy. And it reminds me of the Holy Spirit flowing among us bringing gifts and wisdom. Bind up Satan in prayer and ask for ears to hear God and feet willing to follow. Ask for some teammates to practice with and pray with and prepare with and go with. Then go live and love and drive back the darkness like Jesus. We are created, gifted, empowered and united for such a time as this. GO! Pray we become a dynamic movement of God and prosper as His Good News Delivery Co. And worship our Good Shepherd as He leads us! Let's roll!
