It's BRUNCH Day Sunday! A day to worship and gather (live and zoom at 10 with Children's Church) and a day to feast, fellowship, invite in and shine bright for Jesus! Come as you are, be loved and find joy today! Thank you Lori and Team 2 peas in a Pod! Thank you Sarah for bringing the Word today! Thank you all for joining us and God this day! Shine!

Good Morning Worshipers! Let us prepare to worship in Spirit and Truth. Let us prepare to worship by showing love and serving God and others. Let us rejoice in the day the Lord has given. PTL! Come and worship and enjoy this day!

I don't know if it was God or Satan, but I was awakened at 2:30 with a loud knock like an urgent pounding on a door but right at my head. I was in the middle of a nice dream too. In my sleepiness, I was able to discern that since Maggie wasn't barking nor Karen awake that I was just hearing things. However, several praise songs kept popping in my head and wouldn't allow me back to sleep as the Holy Spirit stirred some praise. So, I've been at it for awhile as it's now 5:45. When I finish this it will be nap time before church.

Here's the songs I kept hearing: Strong (I find myself singing this several times a day lately. He is strong always but especially in my weakness! PTL! I can't do this on my own! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFk2iYq4Zjk; Come Jesus Come (this song keeps coming to me throughout everyday for weeks--Yes Come! [check out the harvest prayer revival blog about this today!]) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UViC6DllCeA; Adonai https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRRUH3g_268. I've worshiped with this awesome song for years as I lift up my heart to God Almighty, King of the Universe, my Savior and friend!

Thinking about these songs and my unusual tiredness (I am not tired when God awakens me early) I'm thinking it was an attack of the enemy that awoke me. The Holy Spirit countered the attack for me with praise and prayer songs. God is so good and kind to us! PTL! He's given us His Spirit that never sleeps, guides, protects and speaks to our souls of His love and help in times of trouble. PTL!

God did speak to my heart deeply today, informed some awesome prayer time and allowed me to be reloaded for the day of love and ministry ahead. And now He's released me to go get some physical rest to prepare this weary body for the day. Thanks Lord! What grace, love and mercy He showers on us! He is our Protector, Savior, Helper, Encourager, and Friend! His ways are not ours and are the best. May we continue to seek Him more in '24 and continue to work at Becoming More and Doing More in '24. Ask Him what word(s) He would like you to work on to become more like Jesus this year. Then find some friends to process with and be accountable to. That is really God's best and shows our love for and worship of Him! I'm going to just let you spend some time, unprompted, with Him as you seek, listen, worship and prepare your hearts for the day ahead. Adonai is with us and for us. He is strong when we are weak and we are are strongest when we are our weakest but relying on Him and His strength. So, please! Come, Jesus come! Have all of me! Be my Lord today! Bring revival as we glorify you by living and loving like Jesus. Come! We worship you, Adonai! Be our Lord today, Yahweh! Come! Amen!

January 28, 2024 - Praying for Revival (Day 28): The Lord Is Near

Unless you’re living under a rock or in a monastic retreat, you can’t escape the storm clouds gathering on the horizon of history. Storms always loom somewhere, but particularly ill winds are blowing today—and we can hear alarms sounding from every direction. Tensions are rising in every society.

It’s safe to say that God expects Christians in every generation to watch carefully for the signs of Jesus’ return and to ask whether their generation will see the heavens open and Jesus descend. Even though we’ve been wrong about Jesus’ return in the past, God has still graciously answered our prayers for His greater glory.

Throughout history, God sent revivals, even though it wasn’t yet the new age to come. My friend David Bryant calls these revivals “approximations of the consummation.” In other words, as we are stirred to prayer because of the events of our day, God answers by giving us a taste of what the return of Jesus will be like.

But God also answers our prayers because both the Bible and history give explicit evidence that God stands ready to pour out His Spirit in troubled times if His people pursue Him in holiness.

The Church and the nations of the earth need an out-pouring of the Holy Spirit that foreshadows the Lordship of Christ over all things.

Holy One of Israel, open my eyes to clearly see the storm clouds gathered on the horizon of this nation and give me Your perspective as to how I should pray urgently for both revival and the soon return of Jesus. Thank You for the historical and biblical examples of Your willingness to pour out Your Spirit in answer to the prayers of Your people. Do it again in my day! Stir up holiness in Your people and a willingness to pursue You for revival. Wake up Your sleeping Church, Father, so that we will be alert and watching for Your next great move in our midst.

Pr a y e r Po i n t s:

• Invite the Lord to open your eyes to clearly see the storm clouds gathered on the horizon of this nation. Ask God for His perspective as to how you might pray urgently for both revival and Jesus’ soon return.

• Praise God for the historical and biblical examples of God’s willingness to pour out His Spirit in answer to the prayers of His people. Ask Him to do it again in our day.

• Pray for a stirring of holiness in God’s people and a willingness to pursue Him for revival.

• Pray that your church will be fully awake and carefully watching for the next great move of God.
